Hey there! Thanks for having a look at my work. My name is Mona Neilson (they/them), I’m a French/British illustrator and graphic designer based in Brooklyn.
I graduated from the BA Illustration program at Camberwell College of Arts in 2020 (yikes). I was awarded a First Honours for the play I wrote while isolated in my apartment during the most gruesome of lockdowns. My experience through University was truly one of rebellion and nonconformism. The majority of my work rejected 'traditional illustration', instead I focused on storytelling and the variety of forms it could take. Meddling with film, sculpture, screenwriting, poetry, and pattern making. This unconventional approach to illustration shapes my practice today.
Today I celebrate dynamism, comedy, and vulnerability as a medium to explore queer identity, the expression of love, and burlesque.
I pride myself on having a fluid style that I can shape to the prompt of the client. I'm passionate about highlighting a business' strength by helping express its unique voice to a larger audience.
